Area Graffiti

Overnight last night, several buildings in our area were tagged with obvious gang graffiti. We could use your help submitting the removal requests and reporting the affected buildings.

If you could please take a few minutes today to help report the graffiti, we’d greatly appreciate it. Here’s how:

You may also simply call 311 to report the graffiti.

Reminder: Never post pictures of graffiti online (like on Facebook or Everyblock). By doing so, you are giving the graffiti artists a larger audience and are helping encourage more graffiti and even gang retaliation.

Thank you Neighbors!

President, HPWNA

Zoning Meeting Regarding 2940 W Irving Park

The 33rd Ward has informed HPWNA that a developer has requested to rezone 2940 W Irving Park to allow for a new residential three-flat building. The buildings immediately surrounding this address are single-family homes.

The 33rd Ward is hosting a meeting Monday, Oct. 20 at 7pm at the Ward office (3649 N Kedzie).

The Alderman and the developer will be present to answer questions about the rezoning request. Community members are invited and encouraged to participate.

Representatives from HPWNA will attend the meeting and would love you to attend with us. If you cannot be at the meeting, we’d love to hear what you think of this request – should the Alderman allow the rezoning?

October 11th Clean Up – on SACRAMENTO

We will be cleaning SACRAMENTO for our October Clean Up. We’ll meet at 10:00 am at the corner of SACRAMENTO and Montrose and work our way south down SACRAMENTO to Irving Park.

(We were planning to clean California, but the city street sweepers were just out and California is in good shape!)

Please bring your own gloves and trash bags. A rake or shovel came come in handy too.

Feel free to invite anyone who may be interested in helping to make our neighborhood a cleaner place!

Our goal is to dedicate at least one hour, one Saturday morning every month, to beautifying our neighborhood. In 2014, Clean Ups will take place the Second Saturday of each month.

Questions? Just ask!
